WCL Apprentices Recruitment 2023 Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants should meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Passed qualifying examination after 28th February 2021.
- Not undertaken any previous training as part of the apprenticeship program (except as a Sandwich student).
- Not undergoing present apprenticeship training at any establishment.
- Not employed elsewhere.
- Not undergoing any regular course of study as a regular candidate from any educational institute.
- Not provided with one year of practical training after completing qualifying examination (Degree/Diploma) in any mine.
- Age must be 18 years or above on 16th September 2023.
- Must pass the initial medical examination.
Stipend:
- Graduate Apprentice: Rs. 9,000/- per month
- Technician Apprentice: Rs. 8,000/- per month (No other allowances/benefits will be provided.)
Period of Apprenticeship Training:
The apprenticeship training period is 12 months from the commencement of the Contract of Apprenticeship. Please note that completion of the apprenticeship does not guarantee employment with WCL.
Reservation:
Reservation will be provided as per the provisions of the Apprentice Act, 1961 (amended) and Apprenticeship Rules 1992 (amended). Candidates from reserved categories must produce valid caste certificates in the prescribed format.

- Register on the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) web portal (www.mhrdnats.gov.in).
- Apply on the official WCL portal (www.westerncoal.in) by the last date of submission.
- Choose your preferred training area (allotment by WCL management based on availability).
- Provide an accurate percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying examination. Convert CGPA to a percentage if applicable.
- Enter the percentage in the web application form without special characters.
Selection Procedure for WCL Apprentices Recruitment 2023:
- Selection is based on the percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying examination.
- Date of birth and percentage of passing used for seniority in case of equal percentage of marks.
- Document verification and medical examination.
- After document verification and medical fitness, candidates will be selected for training.
